SNHS Leadership

Application Requirements

  • Must be a current SNHS member in good standing.
  • Must have earned at least 8 hours of credit this school year.
  • Must have the approval of all current science teachers.
  • Must be willing to complete all requirements in the position description below on this web page.
  • Must be readily available to come early and stay after school next school year.
  • Must be willing and able to attend a summer meeting.

Election Process

  1. Interested members complete the application for the available position of interest.
  2. The SNHS advisor(s) review all applications and provide a response to whether or not an applicant will be nominated for the position.
  3. Nominated candidates will have until the election date to campaign to the SNHS members.
  4. SNHS members will vote to choose the candidate who will assume the leadership position for the next school year.

Leadership Positions

  • President

    Duties of the president include, but are not limited to:

    • Plan and preside over meetings.
    • Schedule monthly leadership meeting (more if necessary).
    • Work with advisors to plan leadership meetings.
    • Communicate between meetings with members and advisors.
      • Check in with advisors at least once a week.
      • Assure leaders and members are completing tasks.
      • Confirm that general meeting requirements are complete.
  • Vice President

    Duties of the vice president include, but are not limited to:

    • Support/assist president.
    • Check in with advisors at least once a week.
    • Take over duties of the president when necessary.
    • Track member participation in meetings, committees, and events.
      • Maintain hours log.
  • Secretary

    Duties of the secretary include, but are not limited to:

    • Record meeting minutes for all leadership and general meetings.
    • Create or delegate blog for every BAHS SNHS event and general meeting.
    • Organize and keep records of all BAHS SNHS initiatives.
  • Treasurer

    Duties of the treasurer include, but are not limited to:

    • Support/assist secretary.
    • Take over duties of the secretary when necessary.
    • Plan for financial expenditures.
    • Create or facilitate one fundraiser every two months.
    • Track finances and prepare financial reports.
  • Outreach Coordinator

    Duties of the outreach coordinator include, but are not limited to:

    • Manage and direct social media.
    • Create or facilitate distribution of announcements, EBBs, and other information.
    • Lead communication with school and professionals as necessary.
      • Reserve locations and dates for meetings.
      • Communicate and facilitate guest speaker events.
