Social Studies

The Social Studies Department at Bel Air High School offers a wide variety of classes to meet the various needs and interests of our students.  Classes offered in the Social Studies department will provide students the skills necessary to help them pass the Government HSA, the PARCC exam, as well as prepare students for success in future careers or post high school education.

The state of Maryland requires students to acquire a minimum of three credits in the Social Studies Area for a Graduation Diploma.  These courses offered include: American Government or AP American Government in ninth grade, World History or AP World History in tenth grade, and United States History or AP United States History in eleventh grade.
